Cruise Prep
This cruise was originally to be 5 sailboats from the Osprey Yacht Club. We had planned the voyage for several months. Unfortunately, a combination of weather delays and schedule conflicts caused the other boats to either drop out or be even further delayed in their departure. With any luck, a couple of the boats will join us in a few days for part of the cruise.

2 TAC E is a 32 foot Nimble Wanderer Motorsailer. It is a limited production, semi-custom boat of which only 25 were ever made in the sail version. Mine was made in 1999 and I'm the second owner. I found the boat in Illinois in 2004. I had to look for a couple of years as they rarely come on the market. It is perfectly suited for cruising the ICW as it has a 70 horse turbo diesel which will push it at 8-9 knots and it only draws 3 feet. It can still sail at 6+ in a stiff breeze.

2 TAC E has enough provisions on board for at least three weeks of cruising. We were loaned a 12/110V portable freezer that greatly expanded our provisioning options for this cruise. We have that freezer plus a large ice chest and our small onboard frig all well-stocked with comestibles and liquid refreshment in various proofs.

Note: I’m documenting our stops along the way using Google’s “My Maps.” It enables you to use satellite imagery with personal notes. You can access our cruise map at

Then click on Hybrid in the upper right hand corner of the screen to activate the satellite photos with map features superimposed. You can move from place to place by clicking the days in the left column and zoom in using the scale on the left side of the map. Note: yopu will have to recenter the map as you zoom to keep a specific feature in sight. You may easily do that by clicking and dragging the image.
I’ll update it whenever I have web access along the way.
